Kayleigh Day, MPH, CHES - Senior Manager of Advocacy, Tobacco Control
Kayleigh Day comes to the American Lung Association from Monroe County Health Department in Sparta, WI, where she was a Community Health Educator for six years. While there, she served as lead for the Community Health Improvement Plan - identifying community needs that inform interventions focused on individual, community, and systems levels. She worked in maternal child health, tobacco prevention and control, environmental health, mental health. She coordinated coalitions and conducted strategic planning. She has also taught in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies department at UW-La Crosse. She started her public health career as a reproductive health advocate at Options Clinics (now Planned Parenthood).
Kayleigh graduated form the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a BS in Community Health Education and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and then later with her Master of Public Health (MPH). She has been a certified health education specialist (CHES) since 2011. She is originally from Menomonee Falls and now lives in La Crosse with her husband and their rescue dog, Apple. |
Darcie Warren, MPA - Strategic Consultant
Darcie Warren started a consultant firm, Growing Violets, LLC, to support clients in strategic planning toward policy and systems change. Growing Violets partners with the Partnership for a Tobacco Free Wisconsin, Wisconsin Public Health Association, Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids, local health departments, and other public and non-profit agencies.
Darcie last worked at the American Lung Association as the Partnership for a Tobacco Free Wisconsin Coalition Coordinator. She came to the American Lung Association after staffing UW-Milwaukee's Zilber School of Public Health startup. Darcie helped build the School's first seven graduate programs and supported its successful initial accreditation process. Prior to working at UWM, Darcie worked as a Public Health Educator in the Wisconsin Division of Public Health Southeast Region-Milwaukee Office, and prior to that, she worked with SmokeFree Wisconsin. She supported local and statewide coalitions by providing training and assistance around policy readiness. Darcie started her professional career organizing healthcare workers. Darcie graduated from the UW-Madison and completed a Master of Public Administration degree at UWM. She lives on Milwaukee's North shore with her husband, their two young children, and two squeaky guinea pigs. |
