Darcie Warren, MPA - Coalition Coordinator
Darcie Warren comes to this position from Milwaukee Children’s Choir, where she was Executive Director. Before that, she was the first staff hired by UW-Milwaukee's Zilber School of Public Health to help grow the startup School. She worked there for 6+ years and supported the School’s successful initial accreditation efforts. Her major focuses included building academic programs, establishing policies, and directing student services.
Prior to working at UW-Milwaukee, Darcie worked as a Public Health Educator in the Wisconsin Division of Public Health Southeast Region-Milwaukee Office, and prior to that, she worked with SmokeFree Wisconsin. She supported local and statewide coalitions by providing training and assistance around policy readiness and growing grassroots power. Specifically, Darcie’s work targeted involving hospitality industry owners and workers to help win smoke-free workplaces across Wisconsin. Darcie started her professional career as a healthcare worker organizer with the Service Employees International Union.
Darcie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in Political Science and completed a Master of Public Administration degree at UWM. She completed a fellowship with the Mid-America Public Health Leadership Institute and successfully completed training programs with the AFL-CIO, Midwest Academy of Organizers, and UW-Extension’s Leadership Institute.
She lives on Milwaukee's Northshore with her husband, two children, and their elderly cat.
